Ban every season, for every leaderboard, and we will start to see the game be truly competitive. Why should these users get 3x their bounty mats and 3x their keys?īeyond that, all I can say is be consistent Blizzard. While you’re at it, could you please address the issue of users recreating new accounts for the sole purpose of gaining 3 rollbacks every season? Exploiting a useful mechanic in this way is still an exploit.
Yes, Blizzard banned a handful of people, and for that, every one of us non-cheaters out there applaud you.
Automation is the primary target of bans (bots/macros). 3rd party programs (including Autohotkey Macros) will get you banned. Banwaves are inconsistent and separately tackled across all regions. Being high up on the leaderboard greatly increases your risk of being caught. Not all botters are caught (I can personally verify this). Blizzard uses the leaderboard as a point of reference to begin their ban list. However, there is a bit of information that has become pretty clear over the last few seasons: It is still unclear, to anyone not working with Blizzard themselves, exactly how Blizzard detects and bans users who are breaking their policies. You can click to see their profiles, but you won’t find a whole lot of anything. Players like nDeniYal and PowerAbuser who were clearly a part of the Rank 1 four man clear, suddenly are missing all available information. Without that you would just be left with people botting to “get ahead” which WOULD actually do something if they lost the account they were trying to do that with.At least 13 people from the clan (Super Casual), and other clans, have been hit with a banwave, according to early reports about Blizzard’s Diablo 3. Got it working here's the step to follow : 1/ get VMware Workstation v.10 (version 8 could work as well not sure) 2/ get a Seven 64bits OS and make your virtual machine (haven't tried a 32bit version) 3/ install the VMware tools (google it if you don't know how) I also have a SSD force 3 & an i7 920 quad core. If literally noone bought gold/items whathaveyou, there would be no market for it. The real and true problem here is people PAYING for this stuff. They didn’t really play all that much, if they are profiting from it(made more than 40 dollars from the account being deleted) they’re just going to get another key/copy, and keep at it. 
Total and complete deletion of the account is about all they can do though. I support very very harsh punishments for cheating. The trick is identifying them early and DEALING with them asap. They could miss some things(I’ve been banned for botting before in another game, which was quickly turned around when I appealed it and the person reviewing the case discovered the first person made a mistake.) So its never, ever going to be a foolproof system. Real people have to check everything out. (And when that becomes a thing we are probably screwed) So none of it can really be that automated. Unfortunately there just isn’t technology out there that can adapt as fast as people can.
